One of the filling procedures applied to the lip is the fillings made with fat injection. Fat tissue taken from another part of your body is transferred to your lip.

Some procedures should be applied to make the lips look more voluminous, fuller and attractive. These procedures are methods such as lip implants, hyaluronic acid fillers, adipose tissue transfer. The permanence of each transaction is different.

Lip augmentation with fat injection is slightly more permanent than hyaluronic acid fillers. However, most of the adipose tissue melts. 10-20% of the injected adipose tissue can remain without melting. In this case, injecting some adipose tissue as a support helps maintain the shape of your lips.

In filling processes with fat injection, the melting rate may vary depending on environmental effects. A faster meltdown may occur as a result of consuming too much hot food and drink in smokers, people who make excessive lip movements and like to talk.

Reducing the lip movements after the procedure, applying cold to the lips increases the permanence and ensures the adhesion of the fat tissues.

After determining the amount of fat needed by the lip, fat tissues are taken from a different part of the body with the liposuction method. After the fat tissues are separated by centrifugation and made fluid, they are transferred to the lip using thin cannulas.

After the fat transfer applied to the lip, swelling occurs in the first 3-5 days. These swellings go away in about 1 week. The appearance of the filling settles in a period of 1 month. Final results will be known after 6 months. In these 6 months, some of the filling melts and the remaining part forms the final shape of the lip.

Fat injections to the lip are planned considering the amount of melting and may create a swollen appearance at first, but it becomes more natural as some of it melts over time.
