Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid aesthetics, also known as blepharoplasty, is the process of surgically removing the sagging tissue and muscle structure around the eyes and giving shape to this part of the face.

Eyelid aesthetics has an important place in the elimination of problems such as sagging on the skin, wrinkles, under-eye bags. The problems experienced may occur with age or develop due to some environmental factors.

UPPER EYELID AESTHETIC

The structure of the skin begins to lose its elasticity with increasing age. With the effect of gravity, sagging occurs on the skin surface, which has a decreasing elastic structure and aging. The weakening of the muscles around the eyes with age is also effective in the formation of these sagging.

These saggings on the skin are primarily concentrated in the eyelid area. The heavy sagging of the upper eyelids causes an aesthetically unappealing appearance. In excessive sagging, the upper eyelid may go down to close the eye, restricting the person's vision. In this case, eyelid aesthetics should be planned.

LOWER EYELID AESTHETIC

Depressions, bags, swelling, color changes and fine lines under the eyes are the conditions in which lower eyelid aesthetics are applied. As with the upper eyelid, sagging that occurs with age also has a negative effect on the lower eyelid. As a result of lower blepharoplasty performed by expert hands, these problems disappear.

WHO IS APPLIED?

Generally, blepharoplasty is applied to elderly people who have sagging and wrinkles around the eyes. It is the method used for complaints such as crow's feet at the corners of the eyes, lines on the lower and upper eyelids, color changes under the eyes, bags and tired facial expressions.

Age is one of the most curious subjects in eyelid aesthetics performed by Promed Clinic experts. It can generally be applied to anyone between the ages of 20 and 80. It can also be applied under the age of 20 due to some genetic factors.

HOW IS BLEPHROPLASTY DONE?

As a result of expert interviews with people with sagging eyelids and similar complaints, blepharoplasty surgery is decided.

In upper eyelid surgery, the procedure is started by making an incision from the fold lines on the lid. In this way, when the person returns to his social life, the stitch marks on the eyelid are not obvious. During the procedure, excess skin and adipose tissue are removed.

In blepharoplasty applied to the lower eyelid, an incision is made at the bottom of the eyelashes. The muscle tissue that causes the collapse under the eyes hangs upwards, the skin is lifted and an even distribution of fat sacs under the eyes is ensured. If the collapse continues, fat injection can be performed under the eyes in addition to blepharoplasty.

WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER THE OPERATION?

It is very important not to make mimic movements for a while after eyelid aesthetic surgery to accelerate the healing process. Dressing should not be neglected for the healing of the seams.

It is necessary to take care of the eye area before and after the operation. Exposure to excessive sunlight both poses a problem for the skin, and squinting because the eyes are sensitive to light causes wrinkles to form. In addition to these, it prolongs the healing process of the sutures after the surgery. It is recommended to use sunglasses to protect the eyes from sunlight.
