The operation of eyebrow transplant is the transplantation of hair follicles that are collected from the suitable donor area to the area that lacks eyebrow hair due to hair loss.

DHI METHOD IN EYEBROW TRANSPLANT?

HOW IS THE EYEBROW TRANSPLANT APPLIED? 

There are four basic stages of eyebrow transplant

 

  1. Consultation and Planning

Consultation: The specialist doctors of Promed Clinic decide the transplantation area and the eyebrow design during examinations. At this stage, the doctor does the planning that is suitable for the face and demand of the person.

  1. Collecting the right hair follicles for the eyebrow

Collecting the right hair follicles for the eyebrow transplant: It is preferred to collect hair follicles suitable for eyebrow without shaving, which is generally applied to people with long hair. Since the required amount of graft amount is few, it is easier to do the operation. The collection of hair follicles that are suitable for the unshaved eyebrow is usually done by shaving a very small area that the hair can cover from the nape area, and the hair follicles are collected from this area. While collecting the suitable follicles for the eyebrow, only singular follicles should be collected. Because singular hair follicles form an aesthetic look on the eyebrow area. For this operation, local anesthesia is applied to the area that is opened for collecting the hair follicles.

  1. Doing the eyebrow transplant operation with Choi implanter 

In the eyebrow transplant operations with the DHI method, local anesthesia is applied for the transplantation area. Hair follicles are transplanted with the right angle and directions by Choi implanter. In the eyebrow transplant, transplantation is applied with more narrow angles than normal hair transplantation. This is an important stage for an aesthetic look. 

  1. Medical Dressing after the operation 

The medical dressing is applied on the next day after the operation in order to prevent medical complications and to make sure that transplanted hair follicles are connected to the healthy skin.

Eyebrow transplant operation takes approximately 2-3 hours since the operation is done with 200-300 grafts which is not a lot in terms of hair-follicle amount. 

When does the eyebrow hair grows after the eyebrow transplant?

Transplanted eyebrow hairs grow back normally 3 months after the operation. The eyebrows have the last shape after the process of 7-8 months. Just like the hair transplant, eyebrow hairs start to shed after 15 days of the operation. The shedding process continues for up to 3 months. After the third month, there is no matter of shedding of eyebrow hairs.

In the eyebrow transplant, eyebrow hairs start to grow fast because hair follicles are collected from the nape.  For this reason, it will be beneficial to revise the ends by cutting at 15-day breaks. At the end of a year, the eyebrows adapt to the characteristics of the area where they are transplanted and their growth rate slows down. The need for cutting the hairs is reduced. After 1 year, as the eyebrows will begin to acquire the characteristics of the area where they are transplanted, their elongation speed will slow down and the need for revision will gradually decrease.
