Botox for gnashing teeth

Teeth grinding without being aware of it while asleep or awake is a serious disorder that can disrupt the structure of the teeth. This discomfort can be easily eliminated with the application of clenching botox, also called chin botox. The application is made to the chewing muscle in the jaw.
Teeth grinding botox is applied in 5-10 minutes without causing a feeling of pain. The purpose of the application is to weaken the masseter muscle, known as the chewing muscle. After the botox procedure applied within certain sessions, the damage to the tooth structure and jawbone problems are prevented.

Bruxism (teeth clenching-grinding) is defined as non-functional and continuous, forceful contact between the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Squeezing, squeezing, friction during non-functional movements of the chewing system. It is not a life-threatening element, but it can disrupt tooth structures. It causes effects such as reducing the quality of life, restlessness and pain in the face area.
Other movements called parafunctional in the mouth can be listed as cheek, lip, tongue biting, tongue thrusting, nail biting, holding a pencil or similar object in the mouth, etc. Bruxism is the most harmful parafunctional activity of the masticatory system. The forces generated during bruxism are 3-4 times the force applied during normal chewing.

There are two types of bruxism (teeth clenching) movements:
- Diurnal Bruxism
It is the clenching movement that occurs during the day. Bruxism that occurs in wakefulness is characterized by involuntary muscle contraction and clenching is prominent; teeth grinding is less frequent. It usually occurs in situations of tension and anxiety, it is seen in about 20 percent of the population.
- Nocturnal Bruxism
It is the clenching movement that occurs during sleep. Nocturnal bruxism is contractile activity that develops in the jaw muscles during sleep. It is more common at younger ages and decreases with age. It occurs in approximately 8 percent of the adult population and equally in both sexes.

Teeth grinding botox is a painless application that takes 5-10 minutes. It is recommended that there be 3 months between clenching botox and applied as 3-session packages. Each session weakens the masseter muscle and reduces the damage of clenching on the teeth and jaw joint. How many units of botox are applied for each muscle, the place of application and the session intervals are the treatment method that Promed Clinic specialist doctors determine individually.
